Milgram studied the difference between obedience and conformity and different variables that would vary such things. In this movie we see people obey the commands of Nurse Ratched because of the hierarchy she created within the ward. People feel the need to listen to her for that very reason. Zimbardo's findings are also present in this movie. The human rights abuses that happened at the Abu Ghraib prison in 2003 Iraq war is a recent example of what happened in the Stanford Prison experiment in real life.
When it comes to climate change we all practice cognitive dissonance, and it's because the science is difficult to comprehend. In Naomi Klein's book, This Changes Everything Capitalism vs. The Climate, "I told myself the science was too complicated and that the environmentalists were dealing with it . . . A great many of us engage in this kind of climate change denial" (2015, pg.3). Moreover, for example, just because my classmates took a course in environmental policy it doesn’t mean that they will come out as environmentalist. It takes a lot of understanding, because climate change involves multiple disciplines.

Usually arguing anything supporting global warming is either over exaggerated or fabricated, that the conclusions made by institutions like NASA should be ignored in favor for people like Dr. Easterbrook. They often base their judgment on their personal experience. Such the common statement made by people like Nick Kouvalis who twitted, “what a night for climate change” while showing a picture of snow (Kouvalis). People have a distrust of global warming research because many believe that global warming is more about politics than it is about science.

Whereas the counselor in the “just right” scenario gives the client his space, but is available if assistance is needed. Some may argue the reduction of greenhouse gases is not necessary simply because they believe climate change is not a serious threat. They argue, "The climate has always been changing, pictures of retreating mountain glaciers are not proof of global warming. They have increased in size and retreated many times before man. " Their beliefs are climate change can’t be proven because the proof isn't valid enough to support, and that the reduction isn’t needed because the cost would result in a huge drop in the economy and standard of living. This is not true because climate change has already been proven and is a real life threat to our planet.

Just because you don’t believe in something, doesn’t automatically make you right. There is evidence that humans are causing it, and if we don’t change our energy policy, stop drilling for oil, and fix factory farming the Earth will continue to warm and it will continue to cause trouble for us. Constructivist thinking focuses on human-centered creativity response to climate change solutions, placing limits of future outcomes. An opposite approach allows for progression toward climate change mitigation. They believe the data must be adjusted to confirm global warming when temperature data disagree with the models.
In fact, denying climate change will only harm society and the Earth further; because by denying it, those who deny climate change are willingly aiding the damage and the danger climate change brings. Climate change is denied is due to the prioritization of business and the economy. Large corporations create their products with uncostly materials, in order to profit more, and those materials are more-often-than-not non-renewable resources or cause damage to the Earth. These corporations prefer to not be targeted with accusations of the unethical damage they are causing. Therefore, they create propaganda against climate change, they create doubt among their customers.

The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
