Everyone has a story, it may not be a happy story, it may not be a great story, or even an exciting story. However, everyone has a story that is worth telling. Where do those stories come from? Some people don’t know the answer even though they have gone through it. Some might answer, duh it comes from the process of coming of age. What is coming of age? There are critics saying that it is the simple process of learning through experiences. Some of them might say it is just transitioning from a child to an adult. However, is it truly a simple process of leaning from experiences and transitioning from a child to an adult? There are claims against that. There are much influences and stories behind a person’s transition from child to adult than just a simple natural process. Is it the way they think? Is it the way they perceive the world? Or is it the amount of experiences they go through? During people’s transition from children to adults, their perspective changes, their mindset changes, and their way of thinking changes. There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes. Every person has a different perspective than another. Why? Because everyone has their own story on the process of coming of age. It is not and will never be a simple process. Mrs. Kelly and Jin have their own story, just like everyone else. Mrs. Kelly is the nice lady that always has a smile on her face. Jin is proud of his motherland and never ashamed to show people who he is. What causes Mrs. Kelly and Jin to be like who they are? What role have their stories played in their lives? Their unique childhoods, unique adolescences, and unique mentors have helped to shape their unique character that they are
