During harry S. Truman's presidency he was faced with one of the most world altering decisions in the war against japan. The use of atomic weapons would set an example of the united states of america’s military strength,power and knowledge of a very destructive technology. It was necessary for president Truman to drop the atomic bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for these reasons. American soilders were tired from the four years of fighting and a surrender from Japan was not in sight.. In (Doc L) it says the bomb saved more lives than killed people in the end, President Truman needed to retaliate for their attack on Pearl Harbor and the bomb would just end the war more quicker.
Imagine being put in a predicament whereby you have to make a crucial decision, either by dropping bombs to save countless lives or to let the enemy proceed on brutally killing thousands more…What would you do? From my stand point, I believe that President Harry Truman felt he had no other choice. The Japanese were not going to surrender and Truman made a military decision to use the first atomic bomb. I truly feel the bomb was necessary and crucial to ending the World War II. There were already so many casualties and, yes, the bombing did produce many casualties but what if we had not used the bomb; how many casualties would there have been if the war just had continued? By using the atomic bombs, Truman ensured that no more American lives would be spared and protecting Americans was his top priority.
What is being said is that the Atomic Bomb had a more meaningless outcome than a positive one, The Bomb did have both a Negative and Positive Outcome but it was really a meaningless and more negative victory during World War 2.
