Not all guns are used for crime or self-defense, some individuals own guns that they use for hunting or sport and it isn't right to take those guns away because of the very small population of gun owners that will use their guns to harm another individual. Only a very small percentage of gun owners intend to commit a violent crime with their weapons, but even with that small percentage we as citizens have the right to own a gun due to the second amendment, the second amendment was intended to protect all able-bodied men so that they could participate in the militia to keep the peace and defend the country if needed, we don't need civilians to defend the country, we have a military to do that for us, but civilians should be allowed to defend their town, city, neighborhood, etc… and keep the peace in these areas if needed, how do you expect them to do that if you take their guns away from them, if someone wants to help keep the peace they need to be allowed to obtain the tools to do that, that includes assault rifles, bump stock, high capacity magazines, these guns/mods seem scary but if we have people with open carry licenses walking around with these things, the criminals will get scared too and they won't want to attack/rob anyone in fear for their own
