In the wake of many tragedies, many politicians are pushing for stricter control over guns. When huge gun-related tragedies occur there’s usually a call for regulation or even prohibition from the media. The Second Amendment grants citizens the right to bear arms which allows citizens to protect themselves from any danger or threat. Taking away guns especially ultimately banning them completely violates the Constitution and wouldn’t be the solution to solving the problem. I think if the government were to take away gun it would make the problem worse and it would cause an increase in more gun violence. There’s many pros and many cons on the debate of gun rights, many people who believe in the cons believe that the Second Amendment doesn’t apply today and that it’s obsolete. Interest groups such as Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Second Amendment Foundation are supporters that are in favor of gun rights. Representatives in the House and Senate who I would talk to that’re against gun control would be Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Representative John Mica and president candidate Senator Rand Paul. Public agencies like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) are ones responsible on pushing more gun control. I think it has to move to a federal level since it’s such a big nationwide issue that many liberals are pushing for gun reform to make gun laws stricter. The Republican party and the Libertarian party and the parties that agree with the issue on not allowing more gun control since the politicians of that party have voted against gun control. For me it’s best to vote and support politicians who strongly support the Second Amendment that grants citizens the right to keep and bare
