Guns are lethal, automatic, loaded, ghastly, rapid fire execution machines. Everyday, an estimated number of 100 people are shot dead in America. Every year, around 35,000 people are killed by the use of guns, more than 50% of those being suicides. Why doesn’t Congress do anything about it? First things first, they are very tribal and even though Republicans and Democrats have different views on gun control, neither group is willing to meet in the middle with the debate. It’s either their way or the highway. Because any law restricting guns can be considered a violation of the Second Amendment, congressmen and politicians alike are hesitant to bring forth any new ideas. Maybe that there are too many guns in America? In fact, DaShanne Stokes is not the only thought leader and research expert who has spoken out against guns and gun control. Many other political leaders such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have shamed the wicked and depraved use of guns. Even with these strong leaders criticizing the use of guns, Congress is not willing to pass any restrictions. Well, most of Congress is controlled by the GOP. The GOP (Grand Old Party) is another name for Republicans. Most Republicans are strongly against gun restrictions and are overly controlled by the NRA because the NRA spends more than 80% of their money on the conservative party. A majority of Congress is controlled or bribed by the NRA. Not to mention that politicians are paid to speak against influential and political leaders who believe that guns are problems. If money is more important than a nation, then many problems are coming ahead for U.S.
