According to findlaw.com, Hawaii’s abortion laws are less restrictive than most states because

there are no consent requirements-some states require minors to seek consent from a guardian or

parent before having an abortion. However, Hawaii does require a licensed M.D or osteopath to

carry out the procedure. If an abortion in Hawaii is carried out illegally by not being performed

by a licensed M.D or osteopath, they will face either a $1000 fine or be sentenced to 5 years in

prison if they are caught. In addition, all patients must have been in residence in the state of

Hawaii for at least 90 days prior to having the abortion (FindLaw, n.d.).
