Converting the majority of our energy use from coal and oil would benefit America and other countries immensely. Natural gas burns 80% cleaner than the two aforementioned, is easily transported and utilized, and is found abundantly all over the world making it a serious contender in a society seeking out alternative energy sources. A new generation of thinking has emerged crafting the green revolution, a movement to create sustainable energy use while exploring other options. Natural gas, while not nonrenewable, is abundantly found in the United States, creates less pollution when burned, and can be used to segue from primarily coal and oil to primary use of renewable energies. If not monitored and regulated correctly this type of gathering natural gas can cause faults, contaminated drinking water, and other horrible outcomes to the people who live near fracking sites (Hydraulic Fracking Should be Banned). There are many ways to prohibit mistakes like these from becoming a reality though. Instead of pumping chemically loaded water into areas that could potentially harm nearby residents a small company in Alberta called GasFrac has created a new and improved way of attaining natural gas. Instead of replacing the gas with water, they replace gas with gas. By injecting propane gel into the ground the crevices are cracked open more allowing natural gas to flow freely to the surface while it is replaced at the same rate with essentially the same substance (Nearing, Brian, and Anthony). America has not yet confirmed that propane fracking is a safe alternative, regulations have been put in place forcing the matter to be tested on a small scale before being taken nationally.
