Their strength lied in numbers as the management was unlikely to fight against the masses. However, these days, many major unions such as the AFL-CIO, today work to create and make available the top benefits for members of a company. Some of this include includes the areas of positive work environments, job security, pay and benefits, and the capacity to go on strike if certain conditions are not met. Jay Greene is Chair of the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas says Unions are "[...]designed to promote the interests of their own and not the interests of nonmember [...]"(Greene) Unions only support their agenda they are not willing to help or adhere to anybody else. Under no circumstances should unions continue to operate in the US. No longer would people suffer the unions ridiculous economic demands and America work ethic would be restored. Unions would be gone and people would no longer have conflict with their greed and corruption. Citizens should vocalize the dangers of labor unions and push politicians to pass laws that disband them everywhere in the US.

Labor Unions were initiated in the United States in the mid-late 1800s. In 1935, The National Labor Relations Act was enacted by Congress, the act defined and defended the rights of the employment relationship. The act allowed employees the right to unionize and have the union represent them through collective bargaining.
