In a certain study, relationship was conducted between public opinion on racial profiling in conjunction with their viewpoint of race relation and their perceived awareness of safety. The study shown that race relations came with a statistical correlation with the legitimacy of racial profiling and the results were even insightful by revealing that racial profiling was widespread and racial tension was difficult to fix as opposed to racial profiling than those who did not believe racial profiling was as widespread or that racial tensions would eventually be fixed.
In Canada there has also been increased accusation of racial profiling of visible minorities who persistently accuse the law enforcement officers of targeting them because of their ethnic background. Potential to stop a crime: If a police officer stops an individual because they are suspecting them then there is the potential to stop a particular crime before it actually gets committed
It minimizes crime over the long-term: If a crime is proactively stopped then the crime levels within the neighbourhood are reduced on a long-term basis
Saving Money: If an individual depicts a particular profile it becomes easier searching for him, and as a result, less resources are consumed in policing efforts
