Today’s Russian Army reforms and its Foreign policy become a challenge and in the same time examination of NATO unity among the member states and its geopolitical partners. NATO enlargement by accepting Baltic States as members from Russian perspective is widely criticized and deduced as hostile activity. Moreover for Russian Leaders sentiments of historical Russian empire and memories of Soviet time influence toward Baltic States region creating illusion that these territories and Nations belongs to them. Taking account these challenges this Essay will assert that ‘wider Baltic’ will become more volatile over the next decade and there are couple arguments supporting that point of view. From another hand, the most trustable partner the ‘US is starting to look more seriously in Asia direction, because Asia-Pacific power is about to overtake Europe’s military spending’s and the US pushing all efforts to sustain America’s global leadership in this region by providing security balance. From Europe and Baltic perspective it is clear that the US activities in Asia region are as well conducted in Europe interests’ (Kaljurand, Neretnieks, Ljung, Tupay, 2012, p.10). ‘However these activities indicate that the main US military capabilities will be transferred to Asia region creating significant force vacuum in Europe’ (Rogers, 2012, p.46). To resolve even Europe’s growing security issues there should be assigned and accepted strategic player from Europe’s big Nations who could substitute this shift. From that perspective from Baltic State point of view there should be closer cooperation established with upcoming leading Nation in order to grant region security. Furthermore such kind of shift is posing threat toward Baltic States because Russia could consider by seizing the opportunity and manipulating with Russian speaking population - test the Baltic States security’s durability. Moreover as additional security guarantor for the wider Baltic region could be gain by solidarity and cooperation between Nordic and Baltic States like Sweden and Finland. That step will create secure environment by surrounding countries in case of aggression. Moreover ‘Sweden stepped forward and offered military support to Baltic countries by donating surplus military materials for almost three Infantry Brigades’ (Neretnieks,p.357) Such kind of way were strengthening Baltic military capabilities
