A standardized test is one type of tests that is designed by a complicated process. In many countries, a standardized test is accepted for being objective, reliability, and validity. Forms of standardized tests is multiple choice question, short-answer question, essay or mixed questions which most of them need the only one right answer (assessment, 2015). Especially, marking for multiple choice by using an accurately programmed machine is easier to checking and scoring answers, so the standardized test is popularity for many examinations and be used in higher education. However, those form of standardized tests is inefficient to seek for intelligence. Thus, they should not be used for evaluation anymore.
First of all, standardized tests are not efficient enough to prove a student’s ability. Standardized tests are used mostly to test how much students could remember about the subject that they learn before. It is about a quantity of knowledge, but it does not have efficient for testing student’s skills. Standardized tests do not emphasize critical thinking of students including problem-solving skills. It is reasonable for an objective information such as a basic principle or a scientific fact. Students can use ‘luck’ for doing the exam. It looks like a probability that the exam has 1 correct answer in 4 choices, which mean they have a chance that they will be select a right answer about 25 percent of 100. By using lucky, students do not use their real skills to do an exam and the result that be received from guessing process do not prove
