The U.S has a thirty percent rate of students failing to graduate high school. How could this be? After all, the U.S is supposed to be superior to any other education system in the world. Parents who send their kids to public or charter schools expect them to be well taught and be prepared for everyday changing life and be prepared for adulthood. However, “ No child left behind “ is merely just a joke. From the current day education system being outdated, inauthentic learning, and all the way to home life. This is similar to outdated education system, but not quite. When participating at school you will learn many things throughout Twelve years of going there. During elementary school students will usually be taught English/Language Arts, history, science, and math. Then when students reach middle school they will also learn basic needed stuff in Seventh grade, such as Civics and Life science. Even technology is a wonderful class to take. On the other hand though, once you reach about Eighth or Ninth grade, most of the stuff they will teach you you’ll never truly use. Not everyone is planning to go to the same expected job as another student. Some students may want to be artists, game developers, animators, musicians, doctors, mathematicians, scientists, news reporters, teachers, writers, politicians, actors, or even YouTubers. Some kids may even want to have multiple careers or just get simple, plain jobs such as working for McDonalds, being a manager at Wal-Mart, or a cashier at a gas station. Teaching kids unnecessary credentials when they will be retaught again later on in the college or university they go to or can be taught through the internet is only adding more stress to children and is wasting time and sweat for teachers or people who work for the school board. Further on, some teachers refuse to use technology for teaching. Technology started to arise more frequently in the mid to late 1990’s. People adorn the usage of calculators, cell phones, computers, and video gaming. Nowadays, technology and the internet is more of a necessity for everyday life. People need cellphones to communicate with others, the media to keep up-to-date with the spinning world and to express and share our lives. People need computers for work and video gaming for our own pleasures and passions. People need technology to be educated, so why does some schools refuse to use technology to its full potential?
