We have all watched the news and seen men and women who have do some terrible things. The cops are human and they make mistakes even with suspects they might get confused with the reports which leads to false accusation. So these innocent people die because they weren't responsible of the alleged allegations. I have gone to many websites that are facts about the death penalty and these are the reasons that they are inhumane. First off, The death penalty can be inhumane under some circumstances for example the notorious Charles Manson “Manson, the serial killer who founded the "Manson Family" commune, was found guilty through joint responsibility of a number of brutal murders carried out by members of his group in the 1960s.” (Telegraph 2010) he deserved this decision for what he did. Although the death penalty can be very lethal there are mistakes all the time, 4.1 percent of death row inmates are innocent this is a huge statistic considering that 1,392 people were killed since 1976. That is roughly 58 people that have been innocent on death row and didn’t get a fair trial. Yet we do nothing to protest or fix this. Yes there are few protest but nothing major. …show more content…

Especially on the time it takes for the lethal injections that they get it takes hours to take effect. In the 1600’s the death penalty took mere seconds. Although the death penalty may not be banned in the us it should be in consideration of how they handle it. “The American Civil Liberties Union believes the death penalty inherently violates the constitutional ban against cruel and unusual punishment and the guarantees of due process of law and of equal protection under the law.” (Aclu.org 2013). This goes to show that we as people don't care as long as it doesn't hurt us. Our government officials are pulling the strings here and there is nothing we can do about
