The EMR system must meet the health information needs of a healthcare organization. The prosed solutions for EMRs must be researched and reviewed, or the consequences can be the unnecessary expenses to the healthcare organization. The EMRs mentioned above have been researched, evaluated, and are potential EMR solutions for the SRHO. The above-mentioned proposed EMRs solutions for the SRHO are similar in ratings, features, and functionality. However, each EMR has pros and cons with some small variances in the rating scores. For instance, Allscripts has simple templates, easy to learn, features are adequate, and rates in the 80th percentile for meeting “Meaningful Use” (American EHR, 2017a; Graphiq, 2018a). The cons for Allscripts relate to the interoperability, functionality, and customer service. Allscripts does not interface well with other systems; the EMR is slow with frequent freezing episodes during use (Capterra, 2018a). Additionally, the lower customer service rating is due to the poor customer service after the initial implementations process. The pros for the Cerner EMR include the ease of interoperability with other systems, user-friendly, easy to implement, adaptable to the workflows, temples adapt to specialties, and rates in the 80th percentile for “Meaningful Use” (American EHR, 2017b; Capterra, 2018b; Graphiq, 2018b). The cons for Cerner are customer complaints of frequent downtimes and updates that disrupt the daily operation workflows for the healthcare organizations (Capterra, 2018b).
