The articles indicated different experiences that took place during this procedure. Some individuals had successful results whereas others did not have the outcome they expected. In 2002, a uterus transplant in Saudi Arabia failed after blood clotting which caused the organ’s blood circulation to fail. Womb transplantation is the surgical procedure whereby a healthy uterus is transplanted into a female organism of which the uterus is absent or diseased. This surgical procedure is needed in some cases because some individuals may have cervical cancer whereas some individuals may have been born without a uterus. There were two previous cases studies that deals with Transplantation of the uteri but they both failed to produce babies. During the womb transplant in Saudi Arabia, the procedure failed after blood clotting which caused the organ’s circulation to fail. In Turkey, there was a successfully impregnated following a transplant procedure, but she unfortunately later miscarried. I think the previous studies were not successful because the uterus was taken from those who were deceased and they were also taken from individuals who were not close relatives. I think those actions played a huge factor in the ending results. Age of host and age of donor always plays an important factor during these surgical procedures. However, I do not think that age plays a huge factor because a 61 year donor gave their uterus to a 35 years woman and she had a healthy baby boy. However, I do think it is good to analyze that aspect as well. Living vs. Nonliving donor vs living plays a factor because the organs of the donor who is dead may not function properly like the donor who is still alive. Post-menopausal pre-menopausal is important so you can determine if your menstrual cycle is coming at the right time.
