Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
Anne Frank was born June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. Four years after January 1933, Adolf Hitler took over Germany and him and the Nazi’s government instituted a series of measures aimed at taking over Germany’s Jewish citizens. May 1940 the Germans that entered World War II in September 1939 invaded the Netherlands and quickly made Jewish life dangerous. Between the summer of 1942 and September 1944, the Nazis destroyed more than 100,000 Jews in Holland to concentration camps. In early July 1942 after Anne’s sister Margot received a letter ordering her to report to a work camp in Germany, Anne’s family went into hiding in an attic apartment behind Anne’s dad’s Otto Frank’s business in Amsterdam.
An event in the late 1930s and early 1940s was a sad and intense period of time where millions of Jews were slaughtered in multiple ways. A little girl, Anne, a Jew, was living in this time and said,” In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” While all of this sadness was happening, Anne saw all of the good in every single person, and even after the book is said and done, I would have to disagree with Anne Frank’s quote. I think that people are not good at heart always because of Mr. Van Daan, his action of taking all of the food and blaming it on the rats was selfish and betrayal to all of the other members in the annex.
Imagine living in a small box like a mouse with eight other people terrified that you might be caught by a cat. Anne Frank entered this box at the age of thirteen in 1942 in Amsterdam, Holland. She hid there for two years from 1942 to 1944. During this period, the only source of entertainment for Anne was writing in a diary. A red checkered diary given to her by her father for her birthday.
On July 8, 1942, Anne Frank, a Jew, moved with her mother, Edith, her father, Otto, and her sister, Margot, into hiding. They hid in the upstairs of her father’s work in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Anne adored her father, got along with Margot, and disagreed about everything with her mother. She had a great life before Hitler came to power. She had the privilege to hang out with friends, go for ice cream, play outdoors, and enjoy everyday life with her family.
I am going to write about the life of Anne Frank. A young girl who has passed through a lot of hard times and death. It is an interesting story to see how this young girl was able to manage such a great time of persecution. It is also interesting to see how racism played a major part in her great tribulation time period. It was organized through good life, and then all of the sudden a rapid change of hiding in an annex.

Anne Boleyn was born in 1507 and died May 19, 1536, in London, England. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII of England. His first wife was Catherine of Aragon and by marrying Anne Boleyn he broke with the Roman Catholic Church. Anne Boleyn’s father was Sir Thomas Boleyn, later known as the Earl of Wiltshire and Ormonde. Anne spent part of her childhood living in France but later returned to England in 1522.
