Around the world, there are many countries that are experiencing war, civil unrest, conflict and dispute with other countries. When one country is going through these difficulties, other countries step in to help out. They send in troops to bring the conflict to an end for the protection of civilians, to save the lives of the soldiers fighting in unjust positions, and for the sake of the ultimate goal of global peace. After a conflict has occurred, international military force organizations, such as the United Nations, send in peacekeeping provisions. Peacekeepers are those in active maintenance of a truce between nations or communities. Peacekeepers also called upon to take on humanitarian role such as emergency aid, protecting and promoting human rights as well as monitor areas to ensure the safety of everyone providing a safe ground for opposing parties to settle arguments. One of the countries that partakes with peacekeeping is Canada.
