I think that the Middle Ages were characterized by despair. There were more problems and downfalls than good points. A few of the bad things were the Anti-Semistic strikes and the Bubonic Plague. Both of these hurt several people in Europe. It was a very devastating time for the Europeans. Another thing is their governmental system was very broken. Everyone had to work except kings basically, so a lot of conflict started. There were protests and riots by the citizens. This caused the signing of the Magna Carta. People were given their rights and kings were limited when it came to power. However, this didn’t stop everything, there was still injustice.
