In the play Romeo and Juliet, the deaths of the two young love birds, lay in Friar Lawerences hand. The dramatic and tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet could have been avoided if Friar Lawerence had not entertained the idea of marriage between the two young and naive juveniles. Romeo and Juliet were of families who rivaled for generations, Juliet being a Montegue and Romeo being a Capulet. Though having this difference, fate brought them together and they fell in “love.” Friar Lawerence knowing this still gave consent and showed intrest in the twos affair without consulting Romeo and Juliets parents. Lawerence led his decisions with good intent, yet failed to see the possible, and future detremential, effect it could and would have.
