Any sane person would say they want to work as a team but then the problem of who your teammates are arises. When you find someone who can make up for the things you lack, then you can prosper even
Forgiveness is an important quality that promotes peace of mind and allows people to put behind old grudges. People who carry grudges against others negatively impact their well-being as they become caught in a vicious cycle of resentment and bitterness. Thus, harbouring resentments keeps people emotionally unstable and prevents them from achieving inner peace. This idea is examined in William Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet, and Dick Lourie’s poem “How do we forgive our fathers”.
“It is to the credit of human nature, that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates” (Page 155). People are more willing to love than to hate. To constantly hate someone takes a lot of time and energy, which I think is part of the reason that it is easier to love. I feel again, that this lesson is still very much a part of our society. After time, people will begin to accept you after you have done something wrong.
Why do we hate? Why are we mean? These emotions are able to completely change how you think towards literally anything, and can even lead to other emotions like anger. Despite all of Hate and meanness can do, why do we continue to purposefully cause these emotions? Saki and Sarah Ellis short novels, “Interlopers” and “Gore” demonstrate how hate or meanness towards a person can influence your actions.
Forgive and Forget? Why do we continue to push the narrative that forgiveness is the key to happiness? Although forgiveness is often established as a crucial step toward achieving inner peace, it isn't necessary for happiness and well-being. Depending on the offense's severity and the offender's lack of remorse, holding onto negative emotions and choosing not to forgive can be a viable alternative that promotes personal well-being and empowerment for individuals.
We are humans and a majority of us have dealt with heartache, pain, broken promises, along with the joyous things like dreams, aspirations, and successful futures. Humans mess up and make mistakes, but we have to remember that forgiveness is a very prestigious and powerful thing. Forgiveness affects people’s lives in positive ways through the hardships, difficulties, and struggles of life. There comes a time when forgiveness should not be available to some individuals. However, this depends on the past situations that have occurred in your life as well as other individuals.
In the modern day, it is expected to love and understand each other, but the reason why hatred exists is never explained. The crucial details focussed on world literature approaches the idea that the people of the world are the same and they need to tolerate each other. The short stories What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish, The Lottery, and the seminal document Texas vs. Johnson all allude to this philosophy. While reading these stories it is easily determined that the meaning of them is to tolerate others, but most importantly they implement what causes people to not abide by others. This implementation shown in the two short tales and government document explains how indignation is the cause of fear and evil in the world.
The holocaust was a horrible period in time, lasting from 1933 to 1945 and killing over 11 million people, 6 million being Jewish. With 20,000 concentration camps each serving a different purpose, whether it was a transit camp, forced labor camp or extermination camp. On July 16, 1937 the camp Buchenwald was established and set up to be a forced labor camp where the prisoners would build the place in which they stayed and the fence that went around the camp. Buchenwald prisoners included Jews, criminals, Jehovah witnesses, gypsies, and homosexuals. Buchenwald was one of the first and largest concentration camp on German soil with 130 sub camps.
We have seen this occur in history numerous times. Take the Jimmy Hoffa case, for example. He was one of the most influential people who brought about great change. With all the popularity and support he gained there were also those who deeply resented him too. It wasn’t just a few people, but dozens of people who engaged in ruthless acts on him to try to achieve their
The past is full of examples, good as well as bad. If one doesn’t learn from the mistakes of the past, one is doomed to repeat them. The actions and sentiments of history’s worst people such as anger, avariciousness, and selfishness are coming through subtly but surely today in many times and in unexpected places. But history also has granted us with many positive examples.
To those living in British America in the 1700’s, religion was a central fixture of everyday life. One’s denomination was intrinsically tied up in one’s ethnic and social identity, and local churches in the mid-Atlantic depended upon the participation and donations of their parishioners to survive. However, as the 18th century progressed, poorer farmers and ministers across the diverse sects of colonial America came to resent the domination of church life by the upper class. In a parallel development, a split had grown between the rationalists, who were typically wealthy, educated and influential men who represented the status quo, and the evangelicals, who disdained the impersonal pretention of the rationalists and promoted a spiritual and

Isaac Asimov’s Reason, shows us how the field of robotics is still a working-progress, Philip K. Dick’s Second Variety introduces the idea of superior, conscious machines who were created by advanced technology, and Kenneth Chang’s “Can Robots Become Conscious?” shares different views on the advancement of machines and robots. I believe machines and robots are not glorified adding-up machines and I think it is possible that they will become capable of original thought the more we advance in the field of robotics. Similar to the iPhone updates, new technology and new studies could lead to intelligent, conscious machines. Technology has come a long way, with the introduction of the Siri of the iPhone, Window 10 2-in-1 computers, flying military drones, and many more.
Throughout Utopia, Thomas More’s opinion regarding the relationship between humankind and animals was prevalent through Hythloday’s perspective. Particularly, this correlation was seen in instances surrounding war, and crimes. Although humans were seen as the superior, more intelligent animal, More believed that humans often reverted back to and were considered animals when they gave into their vices (More). For example, in Utopia, Hythloday brought up his view in regards to punishment for crimes.
To hate another man is to bring yourself down. It is a love that is not individually driven, but
