The Scientific Revolution occurred roughly between 1550 and 1700. Some people also refer to the time period to be between the lives of Nicholas Copernicus and Issac Newton, to state who the revolution started with and who it ended with (Hatch). It doesn't mean there aren't changes to our scientific processes today, this was just a time period in our history that has recorded information of large changes happening often. The changes were very large and many people were against the views of the men who made the changes/discoveries. Since people put their religion first, the sudden views that made God nonexistent were immediately ignored by citizens and courts ordered many scientists to stay in their homes at all times.
The cause of this revolution was the Renaissance which stimulated scientific progress and thought. From the Renaissance, patrons now funded science in addition to literature and art which helped spark the Scientific Revolution. Technology such as the printing press and better scientific instruments also allowed for this revolution. A figure of this time period was Galileo Galileí and he used experimental methods instead of speculating what would happen in an experiment.
Prior to the Industrial Revolution, in the 16th century, developments within the scientific world were made, this was known as the Scientific Revolution. Developments were made in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and more. These ideas changed the way people viewed science and made room for new innovations which would impact the future. Although the Industrial Revolution had its positive effects, more negative effects came from it, these included, a growing wealth gap between the rich and the poor, disease and contamination, and harsh working conditions.
The scientific revolution made a vast impact on everyday lives, it caused computers, phones, and other items to be invented. This revolution has caused many conflicts, and with these conflicts it had changed the way people lived and made many people question life. The revolution had made many benefits for people and there were also some people that were harmed during this time. The scientific revolution had many different actions that caused wonderful objects to be invented and allowed people to know more about the world. Different actions were done to create the scientific revolution similar to when the societies developed conflicts, such as when Copernicus made the solar system, how the conflicts changed the societies by the church going against people, the people who experience harmed such as Galileo, and the people who benefitted from the change such as other boys.
These changes all affected politically, socially, religiously, or even economically how people lived. The Scientific Revolution was an event in time of a multitude where it can be questioned whether it was for all and the limitations behind it. The Enlightenment, for example, discluded women from participating in select activities like participating in government and publicly getting to think differently and independently. The Renaissance also had limitations for the peasants and much of the middle class. As a whole it seems like everyone was able to buy fancy art and clothes when really, it was only for the select rich.
There was more money to be spent on things outside of basic necessities; newfound wealth was invested in things that bettered people’s ways of life, in turn the overall standards of living were greatly increased. The scientific revolution brought curiosity and a whole new way of thinking; new medicines and vaccinations produced during it prevented fatal diseases that had never before been controlled, and therefore reduced mortality rates. Entrepreneurs became increasingly wealthy; those who previously had no chance of reaching the upper class were able to enjoy
This caused many major conflicts. The Church did everything in their power to prove their point and make everyone believe it (Doc 3). The Revolution invented the scientific method, painstaking method used to confirm findings and to prove or disprove a hypothesis.
During the Scientific Revolution, natural philosophers developed a new scientific worldview. A heliocentric model of the universe replaced the geocentric model that was already in place and widely used. Different methods for discovering scientific laws such as Natural rights were developed. Scientist believed in a universe of matter in motion, which was reasoned with mathematics and experiments. Philosophes organized into societies widespread throughout Europe to make the spread of knowledge and ideas easier.
The revolution changed the way that things were produced and allowed for there to be more advancement made in more science and mathematic fields allowing less time consummation to take place with the replacement of small hand tools with larger, and faster machines that got rid of high consumer prices almost entirely for the fact was is that it was no longer as expensive to make things, and they took far less time to make than they did when they were having to be made by hand. The headway that was made (specifically by the U.K.), during this time was incredible for things like the steam powered engine, the powered loom and a machine was made that aided the effort to separate cotton seeds from cotton fibers. these new inventions helped aid the later development in technology by giving an easier mean to create items in mass production, and use less materials to save

During the 16th and 17th century, Europe had just experienced the Age of Exploration and the Renaissance which encouraged people to continue to question old ideas and seek out answers on their own. The printing press is now a tool to spread new ideas like wildfire, assuring that anything published will be widely seen. In addition, nation states are competing for power and wealth and there’s no better way to do that than to learn about the sciences to create new ways to solve problems, thus making money and gaining influence in the world. The scientific revolution was a time that took place right after the Renaissance, the Renaissance was time period between the 1500’s and 1700’s where many were celebrating life and the start of a new period. During the Renaissance people started to question the beliefs of the Catholic Church. However, leading into the scientific revolution the church still mained their high power. This leads us to the start of the scientific revolution. During this time scholars started to challenge the views of ancient thinkers and the church.
The Scientific Revolution was a very important and significant time in history. It was a big change in the way people thought about knowledge and approached it. The way it arose was from interest in Greek and Latin thinkers, interest in the natural world, the idea an individual was important, and the begging of chemistry, alchemy. Also it was a time of questioning and becoming more aware of what people and scholars believed.
In Steven Shapin’s book, The Scientific Revolution, he described the massive scientific changes that occurred from the late 16th to the early 18th centuries. Shapin utilizes the scientists and their findings to demonstrate the changes that affected Western civilization. He describes his theory of the Scientific Revolution as he proves that the world has always had scientific advances. Steven Shapin states his thesis which influenced the modern world, that the Scientific Revolution did not happen during a single time period through the use of the three essential questions: What was known, How was it known, and What was the Knowledge for.
The Scientific Revolution started a domino effect of people beginning to understand the powers they held. People could freely ask questions instead of indiscriminately accepting what they were told. A basic summary of this effect is written in the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, “When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and assume among the powers of the earth…which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them…” (p. 72).
