In 7th Century CE Arabia, the prophet Muhammad founded the current world religion of Islam, because he was commanded to by God (Britannica 2016). The Islamic faith holds six key beliefs, many of which are concerned with Allah as “Muslims believe that all the laws that govern the universe belong to Allah, and that he controls the destiny of all things” (Illustrated Encyclopaedia of World Religions). Members of the Islamic faith believe that there is only one God who is Allah, that Muhummad received the Qur’an from heaven, that God created angels and that there are demonic counter arts to these angels, that God sent prophets to Earth and that Muhummad was the final prophet, that the Day of Judgement will occur and that everything that occurs on Earth is due to the divine interference of God. The Buddhist religion’s key beliefs are a result of the teachings of the Buddha, whose teachings have been based around the fact that “Existence is painful. The conditions that make an individual are precisely those that also give rise to dissatisfaction and suffering” (Britannica n.d.).
