The Islamic religion was created by the prophet Muhammad and his revelations from Allah. He gained many followers because his teachings appealed to many different people. Islam continued to grow throughout many regions, uniting people and cultures. Because their geography was set in the midst of Eurasia, it gave them the ability conquer and spread ideas quickly. Muslims had a large tolerance of other cultures and they were able to advance scholarship to the highest level of that time. The result being achievements that have had a lasting impact on different cultures and the world. Because the Muslims had a chronic curiosity in knowledge, they not only preserved existing intelligence and extended it; they used this insight to better themselves in ways such as having skilled and capable scholars, mathematicians, and physicians. For example calligraphy was a beautiful art form and in document 6, calligraphy in the shape of a bird is seen as art. This intricate detailed art was used to reflect the glory of allah. Muslims are not allowed to put humans in their art so caligraphy was a way to express their love for allah respectfully. Calligraphy was used to add decoration to buildings and objects as well.This art form diffused into Europe and Asia becoming a popular style. Equally important was architexture, another way of self expression and art, which in turn was used to echo the greatness of allah. In document 7, it is a photograph depicting the Dome of the Rock’s beautiful architecture. Many Islamic mosques and buildings had beautiful domes and artwork on them. The architectural style used become very popular and expanded rapidly. The Muslim's need to show respect for allah became a beautiful way of self expression in art and architecture, since their style became very favored throughout the world, many of this type it is still admired
