The strategic brilliance of General Patton General George Patton is a notorious name in US military history, as a name of courage, leadership, and tactical brilliance. But Patton's character was one of a brash and arrogant person. He was known for his aggressive style of leadership leading others to question his character and actions in Mexican Revolutionary, World War 1, and World War 2. There was a lot of concern from officials about his mental health. This can relate to his behavior and character being aggressive and brash towards his subordinates and Soldiers. One of the main reasons why General Patton was a questionable person was how he planned his operations and missions. During his time in a leadership role, he planned and led many battles, many being reckless and high casualty. He was not concerned about his Soldiers and their well-being. Instead, he saw them as tools to use in the war. A quote that talks about General Patton's reckless strategies, on,” During that time the Third Army suffered roughly 137,000 casualties, but it had inflicted more than 10 times that on the enemy.” Even though he inflected 10 times more on the enemy, that was 137,000 U.S. and British Soldiers, one of the highest casualty counts in the Army. This showed that General Patton’s vision of victory blinded him to be concerned about the lives that would be lost. Another reason is General Patton’s behavior toward his Subordinates and his
