Zodiac Killer Research Paper Introduction It has been approximately 47 years since the world has last heard of the Zodiac Killer’s activities. Till this day, the San Francisco Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Intelligence have not succeeded in identifying the alias of the Zodiac Killer. He the Zodiac Killer has claimed to have taken 37 lives amid his time terrorizing the San Francisco Bay area. However, evidence has only linked him to 7 of the murders. The Zodiac has been taunting the police by sending them nearly impossible cryptograms with the blood of his victims smudged on the paper to confirm authenticity.

The Zodiac Killer has claimed to have taken 37 lives, but police investigative reports concluded that only seven were related to the Zodiac ( Vogit, “Zodiackiller.com”). The zodiac has been taunting investigative forces by sending local newspaper companies his cryptograms and letters. The zodiac was known to kill isolated couples and individuals. He also took in some of his victims and tortured them till they died or used them as hostages for his future plans. The letters contained a message that taunted the police for his next crime and a cryptogram for them to solve. The first cryptogram was solved by a highschool teacher, the cryptogram was interpreted to say, “ I LIKE KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH FUN…” ( FBI, “The Zodiac Killer).
