In the process of growing up, children’s problems are often compounded by the inability of adults in their lives to understand or to respond effectively to what children are feeling and struggling to connect in their lives. Play therapy is a way for the therapist in a beneficial way of inspiring a child to explore life events that may influence current circumstances, in a manner and pace of the child's choosing, primarily through play but also through language. Through play therapy, the therapist will be able to engage with the child in play therapy but also having a conversation about the man things on in their lives. This paper will explore one therapeutic technique that I had a chance practice during one of our class period times for the purpose of increasing my knowledge how to handle a play therapy session effectually. In treating children, the therapist uses multiple therapist techniques to make things a lot more to their liking for the child like feelings Jenga” that was presented showcased and utilized for the therapeutic technique. Getting the child to play a game, but also getting information about their personality and interests teaches ways for them to act properly is highly beneficial in their lives. Certain games like “Feelings Jenga” is a way to engage with the child in the session that will be exciting to them and not annoying because they are playing a type of game.
