A Literary Analysis of Holes “There is no lake at Camp Green Lake . Most campers weren’t given a choice. Camp Green Lake is a camp for bad boys.” The author puts that camp isn't always what it seems but, it does therefore changes Stanley throughout the book. Stanley changes from being confused but a also innocent boy to a brave person because of hw Sachar describes him in the beginning, middle, and the end. Stanley in the beginning of the novel is innocent and a little confused on why he gets sent to Camp Green Lake. Sachar agrees that “Stanley was not a bad kid. He was innocent of the crime for which he was conited.”The author explains that Stanley didn't do anything wrong. Stanley was just in the wrong place at the wrong time of the scene. THen sachar writes “Stanley was given a choice you may go to jail or Camp Green Lake.” This shows that Stanley didn't have that much of a good choice to make.
