When we read Romeo and Juliet we all think it’s original but in reality Shakespeare got it from others including Ovid, who wrote Thisbe and Pyramus. Both men to be huge in history, One is a myth in a story and Both of these stories are similar but there are some obvious differences that you can tell the story apart by. As we all know greece is an area of Myths and most people know that Myths are a story resembling an item or history. In Romeo and Juliet that story didn’t have a resemblance in reality but a love-hate relationship story. Where in Thisbe and Pyramus it says, “The deep red fruit of the mulberry is the everlasting memorial of these true lovers…” (Ovd.489) This was a story about how the blood and their love colored the mulberries which were said to be white before. In romeo and juliet it says as a quote but not any tale of truth, “For never was a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo” (Shakespeare.478). But in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is 13 while Romeo is 18 or 19. The age is a huge gap in Romeo and Juliet but in Thisbe and Pyramus, they both grown up together and are around the same age.
