Do different versions of media influence our view of the original storyline? Have you ever experienced different emotions in movies? Did you ever think a live-action made the movie more exciting? Well, I'm going to analyze if it is the same for the same storylines in modern vs. classical, with Romeo and Juliet's 1968 version and 1996 version. Romeo and Juliet is a story written by William Shakespeare.
The play of Romeo & Juliet and the musical of West Side Story are very similar in comparison. West Side Story was based on Romeo and Juliet. The similar comparisons included the main characters meeting each other for the first time and a secretive relationship. In contrast, the feuding between each side in both plays are different.
The film, Romeo+Juliet (1996), captivates some of the Main Ideas in the Book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare: love, betrayal, and hope. Shakespeare’s themes and ideas are still used in today’s society to give us more of an understanding of what Shakespeare was trying to show, just like in the film Romeo+Juliet and the book shows those points. Hope is really shown in the film and book by Juliet having so much hope in Friar Lawrence that the poison will work and that she can see Romeo again. Love is obviously shown in the film and the book, just by the amount of love that Romeo and Juliet both have for each other and the other characters have for Romeo and Juliet. Betrayal is shown by Lady Capulet and Juliet by forcing Juliet to marry
The tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet and the devastating film West Side Story are two very common tales about young and nine children who fall in love but where they come from stops them from being together, however, they have many differences in each story as well. When you first meet the male love interest in both stories, Romeo and Tony, they do not want to do anything with their family and friends. Both Tony and Romeo are passionate and affectionate men. Juliet and Maria are the other love interest in the play and film, they are innocent girls caught up in the violence. Maria and Juliet are two girls who are experiencing young love for the first time, they also know when to stand their ground when there is conflict.

In the novel West Side Story by Irving Shulman and the novel Romeo and Juliet by William Skakespear, both have a developing theme of forbidden love between the main characters Tony and Maria and Romeo and Juliet. Here in both of the tragedies, the main characters fall in love with each other's rival gang. As well as the desire to be with one another leads to consequences faced by the division of gangs. In both of these stories, we get to see a forbidden love that leads to tragedy, division between rival gangs, and finally the reconciliation of both sides after the death (deaths) of the main characters, which brings peace. parallel structure of the characters' journey.
What does it mean to transition from the bubble of childhood into the abstract world of adulthood? The two elements of coming of age that hold the greatest impact on the perception of the world (This isn't true, I just don't want to change my thesis from what it was because its a good thesis) are the perception of parents and empathy. Characters from the book LONG WAY DOWN and Romeo and Juliet experienced a case of either the experience of love or a change in their perception of their parents. The characters in question are William and Romeo. William from the book LONG WAY DOWN experienced a change in his perception of his parents that ultimately led to a different outlook on how his parents are not perfect.
This essay I would be comparing and contrasting “Romeo & Juliet” and “Pyramus & Thisbe”. I’ll be talking about how these love stories are similar and how they are different. First, “Romeo & Juliet” is about how their families are enemies but their kids fall in love. Juliet parents told her she needs to get married to this guy name “Paris” and she doesn’t want to because she’s married to Romeo. She went to the Friar and ask for something to make her fall asleep because the next she has to get married.
Romeo & Juliet and Pyramus & Thisbe are two tragic love stories that happened several years apart, and during both of those times, they managed to enthuse audiences. Both stories share many similarities in their plots and how they are written. Density, also known as fate, plays a big role in these two tales, but it's not only fate; personal decisions also play an important role in the tragic fate. One of the many key similarities between the two stories is the theme of forbidden love, which is density. The protagonist comes from feuding families, which prevents them from expressing their love to each other in public.
Love is so close yet so far. Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbe have a lot of similarities and differences about the true story of the two lovers that where separated because there families but the love for each other always stayed strong for one another. Despite having two short story lines that are somewhat different, Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbe both have forbidden love. The prologue states in Romeo and Juliet says, "Apair of star-crossed lovers take their life," (2-5) and The prologue of Pyramus and Thisbe states, "The death of too young lovers was the cause. " 1-2.

In the two stories Romeo and Juliet and "Pyramus and Thisbe" there are some major similarities and differences that can be discovered throughout both of the texts. Why is The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and "Pyramus and Thisbe" so similar to each other? Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Ovid's "Pyramus and Thisbe" both have similarities that reflect both stories but are retold differently. To begin with, in both stories the lovers find a way to communicate with one another and develop their relationship. In "Pyramus anad Thisbe" it states,"In the wall both houses shared there was a little chink. No one before has noticed it, but there is nothing a lover does not notice.
“Romeo + Juliet” is a wonderful adaption of the classic Shakespeare playwright. It is a fine introduction to Shakespeare for the young because the setting is a bit more modern thus they can relate to the film more. There are many concepts in this film that contrast with each other, love and hate, youth and age, life and death this just makes the plot more intense. Romeo was portrayed by Leonardo Dicaprio and Juliet was portrayed by Claire Danes. Both of them are excellent actors and have satisfying chemistry in the film.
First, both lovers from the play and poem differ from communications. In Pyramus and Thisbe, they knew each other through a fissure on the wall but in Romeo and Juliet, they communicate with each other by the Nurse and Friar Lawrence. In the play, Romeo and Juliet fell in love at first sight but the two lovers in the poem were in love ever since they were children. There were different tragic endings between the two. Romeo drinks poison to kill himself due to the thought of Juliet’s death unlike Pyramus from the poem, he saw evidence of Thisbe being dead so he stabs himself in the guts and died.
Introduction- History of Film- it was made in 1968, it was directed as well as co-written. It was the last shakespeare film to be nominated. Very popular with the teenagers but the main reason why that was, was because they were the first film that had ever used teens in a film. (Romeo and Juliet, 2016) Castmember- The person who played as Romeo his name was Leonard Whiting, the one who played Juliet was Olivia Hussey.
