What does it mean to transition from the bubble of childhood into the abstract world of adulthood? The two elements of coming of age that hold the greatest impact on the perception of the world (This isn't true, I just don't want to change my thesis from what it was because its a good thesis) are the perception of parents and empathy. He later found out that he killed the wrong guy. William spent his whole life thinking that his father was “A man who moved with precision, patience, purpose, not willy-nilly buck-bucking off at random” (Reynolds pg 221). However, after he learned his dad missed, he was disappointed, he did not think that his father would ever make a mistake like that. “Spent my whole damn life missing a misser. That disappointed me.” (Reynolds pg 221) Realizing his dad was perfect helped him to ultimately realize he was wrong too. That he was going to kill a random person just like his father did when his brother died. Romeo, a character in the famous story Romeo and Juliet, experienced the idea of love many times before he experienced actual love with Juliet. His experiences with Juliet changed him in positive ways as he was forgiving and noble to Tybalt before they fought because love changed his entire outlook on his beef with the Capulets.
