Thomas Edison’s first attempt at creating an invention was an electric vote recorder, which had failed miserably. Although, soon after, he improved upon the stock ticker which was the kickoff of his entire career, and his company began to manufacture his version of the stock ticker in 1870. He also improved upon the telegraph, allowing it to send a topmost of 4 messages at a time. Years later in 1887, Edison had invented the phonograph, which had allowed you to record sound, and the machine would play it back to you. One year later, he began to work on the electric light system, which allowed the power to be brought to people’s houses from power plants.
