Edison's Inventions “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.’’. Those are the exact words from Thomas Edison. He was not going to let all of the 10,000 times that he failed stop him. Thomas Edison is always going to be known for his biggest invention, the light bulb. He has discovered and invented many more things than just the light bulb itself. Thomas Edison is a very interesting man with an amazing background. First of all, he and a friend named William Kennedy Dickson. He and Edison decided to make a camera that could take pictures. There was a little peep hole to look through called the Kinetoscope. Later on he started mass producing Edison Films. Edison had invented many things other than just the light bulb. He invented the Electrographic Vote Recorder. This invention helped congress turn in votes quicker. This invention would be near the congressmen and they would flip a switch that either was yes or no and it was send a fast electric current to someone counting up the votes by switches. This invented was one of the first of Edison’s many inventions. Another cool invention was the Phonograph. What was so cool about it was that you could say anything you wanted into it and it would record it and say it back. This is still a thing today because it is in those bears for kids. The vibration of the voice would rattle a needle recording the many vibrations and be able to play it back. It was not as advanced as thing are today like this but for in this time in history it was still pretty amazing. Last but not least was the light bulb. The light bulb was the biggest and most know of Edison’s inventions. He had failed over 10,000 times, he tried to make square light bulbs, weird shaped light bulbs but none of them would work.
