There has been many great innovators in the past, such as Nikola Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, and Thomas Edison; who helped progressed the world and also inspired me to innovate as well, so I may help progress the world forward, as they have done in their time. One of the most famous, if not the famous innovator might have to be, Thomas Edison. Although he is not my favorite innovator, Edison did however help progress the world forward. Many of his inventions such as the phonograph, motion picture camera, and DC (better known as direct current) have helped shaped the world; but the invention that made Edison well known is the invention of the incandescent light bulb. But unlike the other two innovators I listed above, Edison was mainly the only one that seemed to care more about the money and fame then the progression of the world. The reason he’s my favorite is the things, he was able to accomplish in his lifetime. Da Vinci held many titles such as painter, sculptor, inventor and etc. Some of his inventions were years ahead of his time, such as the armored car, which was the precursor to the modern day tank. Leonardo da Vinci had a major fascination with aviation; it was with this interest that he came up with sketches of an aerial screw or better known as a helicopter even though the first helicopter wasn’t built until the 1940’s. I first became fascinated and interested in Leonardo da Vinci’s life after I came across his personal journal. Leonardo wrote in his journal all the time then suddenly stopped for two years. But, when he did begin writing in his journal again, he talked about walking in a cave, then stated seeing a bright flash of light.
