Three Messages from Thomas Jefferson 's Declaration Of Independence “Thomas Jefferson, the United States ' third president, was one of the founding fathers of the United States, serving both Virginia and the nation in a variety of roles over forty years of public service.” states Eric Badertscher. Thomas Jefferson was one of the most important figures in the development of this nation, and gave this country a foundation that would live on for centuries to come. He provided this toddler of a nation the bottle of milk it so desperately needed, and stood fast to the mother country. His most famous work, The Declaration of Independence, declared with force, the colonies independence from Great Britain. This document exercised intense persuasion, and Jefferson 's ability to turn away every resistance Britain had was greatly expressed in this document. Within this document, a multitude of messages can be derived, and it is very clear that Jefferson put great amounts of thought into this work. Overall, there three messages that can be derived from Jefferson 's Declaration of Independence. It’s messages are that of no other, and defied Britain 's way of thinking. The D.O.I. took Britain 's heart out of the revolutionary war and gave the Americans the will to overcome it. Lyndon B. Johnson states powerfully, “Our fathers believed that if this noble view of the rights of man was to flourish it must be rooted in democracy.” Jefferson died on this idea of democracy, and pursued it the entirety of his life. He gave this country the power to overcome its problems, and be birthed the idea which it’s founded upon. Hopefully America can hold its solitude into future years, and maintain the basis of which Jefferson
