Over 400 years ago slavery was developed, and is still going on today around the world. Many people think of slavery in a bunch of different way; some things are good and some are bad. There are always going to be two sides to every situation. Slavery is defined as “A condition compared to that of a slave in respect of exhausting labor or restricted freedom. In every side to this situation they always have something in common even though these people may not know it. The history of slavery has varied over time by people wanting to talk about it in museums and other’s telling true stories of what has happened back in the day. In the article “West African Country…,” the article is mainly how people want to start talking about slavery in Museums. Many people are agreeing and disagreeing with this objective. In the article “Time Machine..,” it talks about the way that they sold the slaves at the auction, and how they can sell different colored people for more money depending on what service they will provide. As it states in The “Time Machine…” article “Next, gentlemen, is a fine lot. Willy, aged 35, an expert boy, a good carpenter, brickmaker, driver. In fact, he can do anything and his wife, Betty, is 33, can wash, cook, wait on the table, and make herself generally useful.” What these two sentences are saying is that there are many different reasons why people sell these slaves. They have many different occupations that they are used for, in other words they are all superb for the labor they are forced to do. In the “West African…” article the passage is mainly about how people want to explain, and talk about the history of slavery on museums. But the conflict that they are dealing with is the fact that the instructors that are teaching these people about the history, are the ones that actually had slaves but they don’t know that because they are treating these people like they are heroes. For example, “Remi Segonlou owns a business that shows visitors around Ouidah. He said that "These people don't know the history. De Souza was the worst person, and he's still treated like a hero." What this site is saying is that people don’t know the truth about the owners and what they did to the slaves that they had.
