In greek mythology, the titan Prometheus had a reputation as being a clever trickster and he is famously known for giving human race the gift of fire and skill of metalwork. Prometheus gave the clay bodied, made by Zues, the breath of lif. At first men and women survived with very little and ate raw meat and hunted with wooden weapons. Zues was happy with this because it meant that no one could ever have a chance of overcoming him. Prometheus grew to like mankind and wanted them to grow more powerful. Prometheus brought up the idea to give mankind fire but Zeus immediately rejected the idea. Prometheus then went behind Zeus’s back and brought a piece of charcoal to men. An eagle would come by every morning and eat out his liver, and then his liver would grow back again for the next day and the next. After about 30,000 years, Prometheus was finally released. Nobody knows why or how, but some legends say that it was Hercules. Zues still was satisfied with Prometheus’ punishment, because he felt that mankind also needed to be punished for Prometheus’s good treatment. Zues decided to make a girl out of clay, and he gave her a copper box that he said had “all a woman could desire” then ordered her never to open it. He sent her to be with Prometheus’ brother, Epimetheus, and they got married. One night she got very curious about what was in the box and ended up opening it behind her husbands back and to Zues’ plan, all the evil in the world came out and all of mankind’s struggles came out. In the end, all of man-kind changed and could no longer be good and noble. Zues’ triumph was greater than ever and since there was such struggle for man, there was no chance of them overthrowing Zues. This story is still relevant today because it gives a vivid story about how all evil in the world came
