The Movie “To kill a mockingbird” Directed by Robert Mulligan, based the movie off the novel written by Harper Lee. The film and the book has the same plot but there are some difference within the plot of the book. In the movie it showed a scene about the mad dog.
Firstly, in the film, it showed Ms. Maudie only calling Mr. Finch to tell him there’s a mad dog on the streets. But in the novel, shows Ms. Maudie calling almost everyone in the neighborhood. In both the flim and the book, When Ms. Maudie called Mr. Finch, she said “Mr. Finch! This is Cal. I swear to god there’s a mad dog down the street a piece- he’s coming’ this way….” This scene was a very important sense because first of all, at that time religion was a huge deal, and for someone to say “I swear to God” means alot more then. But in film like I said, Ms. Maudie only called Mr. Finch when she saw the mad dog, but in the book, on chapter 10, she called mostly the whole neighborhood. In the novel she does this because mostly everyone in this neighborhood was white and for a black woman to be telling something is happening wouldn’t be so convincing, there for she calls the whole neighborhood.
