Father Robinson and his family were shipwrecked on a deserted island with his family. The captain and his crew members left the Robinson family to survive on their own. Father taught his kids to be strong leaders as they grew up on the island. From having nowhere to go, nobody to contact the Robinson family had already built two new residences and built their own farm throughout the years/months. One of the main characters of this story is father Robinson. Father was a man that had many good qualities that helped his family survive. Father learned to cope with the harsh weather conditions. When, something goes wrong Father always uses his humor to make a joke out of the situation. For instance, on page nine Fritz said “Take it off! Take it off! Cried Fritz. I laughed. “It had lost its mother so it has taken you as it’s father. ” On page fifteen Father makes a joke stating “ What! I said, laughing”. In a tree! Fly? In excerpt three Father had said “ Run round and get it,’ laughed Fritz, ‘ perhaps it has dropped into Europe - you must not lose a good crowbar”. His leadership helped guide his family. On page one he clearly instructs his family on what to do. For instance “ The land isn’t very far off. This is one of the many small islands world… Tomorrow the waves will have gone down and we’ll be in a position to reach land.” Also, on page fifty-three he instructed his children not to go into the cave yet because if they inhaled the air it could be fatal. On page 56 Father made the final decision on where the farmhouses could go. Father puts consideration and caution when making these decisions. That's what makes him a good leader, he is not
