On July 18, 1901 fourteen year old Willie Nickell was found dead. He had been shot near his family's homestead in Cheyenne Wyoming. The gunshot was located on his back ,His murder, being Thomas Horn Jr. also known as “Tom Horn” . Tom was born November 21 of 1860 in Scotland County, Missouri. His parents were Thomas S. Horn and Mary Ann Maricha Horn they raised all eleven of Tom's siblings not including himself but only eight in total survived their childhood. His family was considered to be dysfunctional. Tom was of German descent as well as he was born into a bilingual family. He was born into a religious family and he later learned to justify his actions which made them more acceptable in his point of view playing a large part in the way he acted and responded to situations. We believe that his reasoning for the was that he was getting rid of a “child-beater” giving an example of how he would justify his actions mentally. Killing over 13 citizens he is classified as a serial killer. But out of each person murdered specific killings caused his life to be cut short they were the murder of four rustlers and fourteen year old Willie Nickell.
