Wallace, I have added some new aspects to my list of outstanding leadership skills. This includes being punctual, firm yet fair, and using easy to understand language. Leaders for a highschool activity should always be on time. If your leader is always late, that takes away from useable rehersal time, but if they show up when they are supposed to, you will be able to get done what needs to be done to make the program the best it can be. Also, future leaders really need to learn the concept of firm yet fair.

Overall a strong leader is “strong” if her or she can continuously hold onto power, and in order to do this, leaders must be liked by the people they govern. As history will show, leaders that are not liked by the people usually are not able to hold on to power for long, such as that in the case of King George III and the 13 British crown colonies in America. In theory, leaders that stay in power the longest are loved by the people because of their bravery and wisdom. These qualities-bravery and wisdom, wether he or she uses it to defend the country against it invaders or in creating laws for the well being and functionality of state, must be possessed by leaders in order to ensure the people’s safety and well being.

The Seven Habits Profile gives individuals such as myself a strong understanding on leadership strengths and weaknesses. The profile asks a series of questions and takes your scores to break down your Seven Habit effectiveness. There are 9 areas of focus; two foundational habits and seven habits. Each of the categories is scored on a scale that has a range of 3-18, with 3 being the lowest and 18 being the highest. The Seven Habits Profile showed that I am “outstanding” in 4 categories and “very good” in 5.
Leadership Trait Questionnaire The Leadership Trait Questionnaire (LTQ) showed that I lack in self-confidence, self-assurance, and feel that I lack in insight. I show strength in determination, being outgoing, friendly, empathetic and sensitive, I rated myself as fours in these categories and a five in the outgoing category (Northouse, 2016). Critical Review of Leadership Theories There have been a variety of theorists who have tried to understand how good leaders acquire their skills and whether the components which make up a successful leader are hereditary or learned. Many Studies have been made using twins to identify that about forty percent of differences in personality are hereditary. (Vernon et al., 1998) From this we can see that it is not only a matter of whether a person in born with these skills but one must also build on them to become a successful leader.
Leadership Journal Report Assignment Skills Inventory: The skills inventory, which includes technical, human, and conceptual skill, helps me to measure my three leadership competencies of me. It lets me to understand how my skills separate to three leadership skill approaches. According to our textbook, although all of three skills are important to leaders, the importance of each skill varies between different management levels. By scoring it, I got 19 in technical skill, 21 in conceptual skill, and 25 in human skill, which is the highest one.
