Over the year, we have read four different stories that each has had unique stories and messages that go along with them and enhance the stories. The four books that we have read are Ender’s Game, The Odyssey, Night, and Romeo and Juliet. Two of the stories that we read were the books Ender’s Game and Romeo and Juliet. Both of the stories have different plots, they have similar themes, and their main characters have some similarities between them.

Later on, Sanger Rainsford finds out the other man known as, General Zaroff, loves to hunt humans as a game, and Rainsford realizes he is next to be hunted. Back in the 1800’s there were 2 people who had a lot in common and they were also different in many ways. Their names were Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln. Both Lincoln and Tubman are similar in many ways. They were both depressed at times, told yarns (or funny stories), and they both had nicknames. They were also hated by certain people at one time of their life, they also lead special events, the pair were stressed at times.

Bondage stories of Americans relate the encounters of whites subjugated by Native Americans and Africans oppressed by early American settlers.
For example, a lot of Jeffrey Dahmer's actions are similar to those of notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Dahmer and Gacy had similar childhoods in the way that they didn't have role model father figures and they were not nurtured or taught moral values. Dahmer and Gacy felt a need to have power over men because of the lack of power they felt in childhood at the hands of men. Jeffrey Dahmer was neglected as a child and he didn't feel like he had the power to make his father stay. Causing him to have deep issues with men leaving him and him craving an emotional connection.
Every story is different; however, they can share similar qualities. Stories can be powerful as the characters experience mirrors similar pathways to ourselves. For instance, obstacles or unknown events and how they find a way for it to resolve can look like our own. A great story contains many different elements. A Midsummer’s Night Dream and The Odyssey are two exciting stories that share similarities and differences.

Everything in life has similarities and differences as long as you're looking for them, but some have more than others. Comparing similarities and difference between two things in life is making a compare and contrast (book) . When comparing and contrasting two pieces of literature you have to observe not only the themes of them but also the plot. Fences by August Wilson and My Papa's Waltz by Theodore Roethke have many similarities and differences throughout the literature due to themes and the plot.
Although both of these stories have many literary elements in the story, the three that are the most important are setting, irony, characterization.
