For this assignment, I have created a travel diary spreadsheet in order to determine the modes of transport for seven consecutive days. It turns out that I spend most of the trips to Brock University because I have to attend classes. These classes tend to be the morning. According to the spreadsheet, I have different times for different classes every day. This has significantly change my travel pattern. For instance, I have to adjust the time that I wake up each day in order to catch the bus. These travel patterns vary between days because I am going to different places every day after school. I will be taking public transit everyday but with different routes. Some of these routes combined with walking as well. According to the textbook, Schiller, …show more content…
According to Vaddadai (2016), it deals with the ease of getting, boarding a vehicle. If a mode is not easily accessible then it loses its usefulness because of its unavailability in a certain condition. There are times where we could not walk to a destination due to its distance. In that case, we have to rely on public transportation. Frequency is also another factor that I would consider. A mode with higher frequency could eventually reduce waiting times. It builds efficiency across the neighbourhood as well. Based on the locations that I went, their distances are far away from home. I would rather take the public transit instead of walking since it is less time consuming. Even though there are limited services among the city, walking will still consume the most of the time for a single trip. On the other hand, the accessibility from my house to Brock University is the easiest and fastest way to go to school. It is because that there is a bus stop located across my house. It usually take ten minutes to reach there. In terms of the service, there is limited services during weekends. But during weekdays, there is a high-frequency service from downtown St Catharines to Brock University. This is mainly due to the demand for
