The 19th-century doctrine or belief that the expansion of the US throughout the American continents was both justified and inevitable. Former U.S. president Thomas Jefferson believed that the nation's future depended on its Westward Expansion. In 1803 the Louisiana Purchase took place, Expanding the size of the territory.
The expansion of industry contributed to the changes in many noneconomic arenas during the Gilded Age. To begin, as the industry grew during this era we also saw the rise of the middle class people. As a result, politics now changed to reflect the middle class interests. For example, politicians began protesting poverty and corruption. Also, the country saw a change in their global connections.
Outburst Westward Expansion during the 19th Century time frame. After the War of 1812 and the Civil War the American started moving to the west including the Great Plains as per the request of the government. The Native Americans, which helped expand, pass the Mississippi River, this move began with just one word move west young man, and they did. These Immigrants came to the land of plenty. The idea of an American "empire" and "imperialism" (American History 1865-Present: End of Isolation) 1865 to 1914 American expansion was encouraged in this time frame.
America’s steady westward expansion in 19th century was influenced by several factors. Firstly, the overflowing population of America which according to second census was 5.3 million and by seventh census, it was expected to reach 23.2 million. This growing population is one of the major reason expansions of America in late 19th century. Secondly, the farmers during this time required arable land for livestock and crops which was not available due to overcrowd. Thereby, financial panics uprooted the people and sent them west for the fresh start.

Victoria was married in 1840 to Prince Albert and they had nine children. Despite being the mother of many children, Queen Victoria very much disliked motherhood and children in general. She conformed to the patterns of her day, producing many heirs, but probably would have not done so if she lived at a time when this was not such an important role for a woman.

The Queen reigned for 63 years, the second longest in history. Victoria was born at Kensington Palace in London, on May 24, 1819.
In the early 1800’s the founding fathers and citizens of the early United States decided that the east coast was not enough for them and they wanted more. More land to conquer, more people to come to their country, more respect from other countries, and to get this they were willing to do anything. The United States expanded west in the 1800’s when the territory west of the mississippi was found to be arable and habitable. After gaining the louisiana territory, which was most of the land west of the Mississippi, which made the US over twice as large as it was before. Then the US continued expanding - gaining Florida, Texas and other states that are now in the US.
Victorian Era Entertainment The Victorian Era lasted for 64 years while Queen Victoria reigned. Entertainment was a huge part of this time because they did not have the modern technology we have today to keep them amused. The Victorians had many forms of entertainment such as sports, different pastimes, toys, and many various hobbies. There are many different eras throughout the years, but the victorian era is by far the most interesting.
During the Victorian era in England, it was very common for the wealthy to set the trends and styles of culture. This period was named after Queen Victoria and is known for its times of peace and prosperity. The affluent were typically esteemed to be like royalty. Their wealth caused them to be like kings and queens. Their self-confidence and overinflated ego would lead the wealthy to set standards so high that nobody could genuinely follow them.
The Victorian Era lasted for 64 years while Queen Victoria reigned. Entertainment was a huge part of this time because they did not have the modern technology we have today to keep them amused. First off, one big form of entertainment in the Victorian era, was sports. Not only playing, but watching as well. Some traditional sports commonly played were cricket, football, and boxing.
The Victorian Era was the history of the United Kingdom during Queen Victoria’s reign from 1837 to 1901. The Victorian society was broken up into four different classes, Gentry, Upper Class, Middle Class, and Working Class. Depending on what class you were a part of determined the type of diversion you got to participate in. Of course, the higher classes were involved in a wider range of activities. The lower classes activities were limited and not as diverse.
Queen Victoria was an only child of Edward which was the Duke of Kent. Only eighteen years later in 1837 she ascended to the throne and became Queen over Great Britain and Ireland. Because she was so young, the Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne, served as her instructor pertaining to her political governing. It did not take long for Victoria to show her strength of mind which allowed her to adequately rule by her own power. A marriage in 1840 to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha resulted in nine children.
The Victorian Age Alexandrina Victoria was Queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 to 1901. She was the only daughter of Edward, the Duke of Kent and Strathearn. Her father died shortly after she was born and she became heir to the throne. The Victorian Age was characterised by rapid change and developments in almost everything. From advances in medical, scientific and technological knowledge, to changes in population growth and location.
