“Yo’ Mama’s Disfunktional” is a book written by Robin Kelley. In this book, Kelley fights back for African-Americans. He is tired of people talking about African-Americans, especially mothers. Kelley feels as if people are blaming the poor blacks for the stereotypes that they face today. Kelley believes that scientist do their studies in African-American cities and don’t show enough about how African-Americans are depicted in their everyday lives.
This matters because it will clarify that the love of a mother is irreplaceable and will help change Enrique as a person but can only get that love from his mother.
Enrique always dreamt of being with his mother and he planned of never leaving her side again, but once he found his way to the United States his mother and him were always caught in a serious
When given the opportunity, should people choose to escape imprisonment or should they welcome death? In the cases of Socrates and Assata Shakur, they were both found guilty of crimes and the law ordered them to die. Socrates felt obligated to obey the law and die but I agree with Assata Shakur’s decision to escape. In the Crito, Socrates is awaiting execution in prison for impiety and corrupting the youth.
The “Mama might be better of dead” is a book that has an ethnographic story of the life of four generations of African American families who live in one of the poorest communities in Chicago. It takes place in the 1990’s in the North Lawndale and it is located in the Westside Abraham (2013). The story discusses in detail how the health care system does not work for most low income families. The story states that the Banks family is going through many challenging and traumatic situations where they do not have all the necessary health care due to low income. This story deliberates that Jackie Banes is head of household and she takes care of her grandmother, Cora Jackson who suffers from a diabetes, high blood pressure and had her leg amputated due to not getting treatment right away.
Never Mama for. Just Leonie, a name wrapped around the same disappointed syllables I've heard from Mama, from Pop, even from Given, my whole fucking life” (147). This is evidence that Leonie holds all her feelings inside and knows she does not have a good relationship with her parents and children but does not work towards a better one because of her suffering. Another example of how the supernatural connects the past and the present is when Richie appears in the car. On their way home from Parchman, they got pulled over by the police.

Aside from that, he and his mother also moved many times while they lived together in New York City. While Tupac was in Baltimore, he discovered rap; not long after, he and his mother moved to the West Coast where he joined the rap group
In her essay “hip hop’s betrayal of black women,” Jennifer McLune implies that “(h)ip-hop owes its success to the ideology of women-hating” (193). She does not agree with Kevin Powell’s article that hip-hop does not mean to “offend” black women, but instead artists are only letting out their temper throughout their music. McLune feels infuriated that many artists in hip hop (including black men) rap about their community and downgrade their own women. In the hip-hop genre, sexism is mainly used, not only by black men but also by many other race hip-hop artists. Artists assume that women-hating in their rap songs will be accepted by women, but do not realize that it is affecting all women.
Violence was much more powerful than we imagine not only because it led tremendous dis- aster, but also due to the deep impact on individuals. In the book of the Outsiders, the violence of Johnny’s family, the other greasers, and their opposing gangs, the Socials, strongly affected Johnny. The Violence of Johnny’s family impacts Johny’s natural instincts, which means that some of his characteristics were already fixed since he was born, and influenced him in daily life. Johnny grew up in a family without care, love, and understanding.
The song Dear Mama by Tupac Shakur relates to the ongoing struggle and hardships that numerous lower class single mothers endure, where Shakur describes how he learned to appreciate his mother and the sacrifices that she made for him as he became older. By formatting the lyrics with verses around a repeating chorus, Shakur was able to emphasize his personal narrative within the verses and allow for a recollection period between each verse to allow listeners to reflect on and comprehend what they just experienced. The form of Dear Mama is consistently strophic, where at the end of each verse Shakur repeats the emblematic phrase, “There's no way I can pay you back, but the plan is to show you that I understand, you are appreciated.” Appealingly,

“Dear Mama” by Tupac is a tribute song to Tupac’s mother. The song depicts Tupac’s love for his mother and his gratitude for her work and mother ship throughout his childhood. She raised him from poverty, crack addiction, and many other circumstances brought on by the world that formed Tupac Shakur and Dear Mama. The reason I love this song because Tupac addressed his mother with brutal honesty, forgiving her for abandoning him and thanking her for raising him. “Even though you was a crack fiend, mama/ You always was a black queen, mama, “he rapped.
