In my paper, I am going to discuss and talk about the different types of serial killers and what triggers their behaviors. In addition, I will be explaining two types of theories that I believe relate and pertain to serial killers. The first theory I will shed light upon is the biological theory. Scientific research demonstrate and explain that certain biological characteristics increase the probability of an individual engaging in behaviors such as, violence or antisocial actions. These behaviors are defined as criminal or delinquent. The next theory is the psychological theory and there are two types, one that focuses on intelligence and the other focuses on personality. As they kill each victim, a message is being sent to others that they are dangerous and ruthless. These killers take pleasure in watching police try to figure out their identity and motive for killing an individual. Killers of this sort can be organized one minute and unorganized in the next. Before engaging in killing, a victim spree killer often rapes or tortures the victim in a harsh manner. After they are done with the victim, the body is disposed and the killer moves on to the next target. Mission oriented killers are the type of serial killers who believes they can pick and choose who belongs in society. Furthermore, these killers believe they are doing the world a huge favor. For example mission oriented killers target people like homosexuals, prostitutes, drug dealers, young women or someone they have something against. However, their work is always organized and done in a specific manner, which makes them easier to track and locate. Visionary serial killers often think they are another person and have psychotic breakdowns within society. There are two categories for these type of killers, which are demon mandated and god mandated. There is a belief that demons enter their body and tell them who to kill. Serial killers are psychopaths, sociopaths and often disoriented. Every type of serial killer has a mental problem and should be removed from society. Serial killers take out their frustrations and aggression on innocent people who have nothing to do with their issues or problems. A person has to be insane to kill their own family and kill women just to have sex with them. In addition, these individuals are not human and we as a nation should create an establishment to provide help for serial killers. In my opinion, they do not deserve to be free or have rights.
