While I read the article about Tyler Perry by Crunk Feminist Collection, I totally disagreed with the overall viewpoint. Tyler Perry is an amazing actor, comedian, and director. I believe that Tyler Perry is good at what he does. For those that know of Tyler Perry background, there would be some type of understanding for his movies. I don’t believe Perry hates black women.

He grew up working on his father’s peanut farm, but in his early teens, he decided that he wanted to have a career in music (Luke Bryan Biography 1). Although Luke Bryan came from humble beginnings, growing up working on a farm in Georgia, his hard work and dedication through the years have propelled him to a very successful country career.

These movies in modern times show increasingly more women in positions of power, as well as in marriages where there is an equal amount of power between both the husband and wife. There are also more movies showcasing non-traditional relationships, such as, domestic partnerships and LGBTQ+ relationships. Being turned down by multiple record companies was very hard on Strait. He kept working though, and it paid off.
In this essay, my research will be based on Tyler Perry’s life. Tyler Perry, American playwright, actor, screenwriter, producer, and director, was born as Emmitt Perry in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 14, 1969 to Maxine and Emmitt Perry. He changed his name when he turned 16 because he did not want to have any connection with his abusive father. He also dropped out of school when he was 16 but he later got his GED later in life.
The free enterprise system was extremely necessary for Tyler Perry to make an impact on the business world. Tyler Perry is known as the man who revitalized urban theater and gave new meaning to gospel theater. He specializes in writing, producing, directing, and acting in plays and movies. Perry created popular plays that have sold out in major cities. He was nominated for several awards including the Helen Hayes for leading actor and four naacp theater awards.
His original plan was to go into the Air Force and help work on and repair the equipment that they need to use. He changed his mind last minute and started working in restaurants around town. My mother did graduate high school, but she did not pursue anything once she did graduate. She also began working in restaurants. Because of their mistake of not pursuing a higher education, at home, school is one of our top priorities.
