Unified Land Operations Paper

The paper depicts the Army formation of today fighting a full spectrum conflict in an area of combat where traditional Geneva rules do not apply. Unified Land Operations has been designed with the implementation of an offensive and defensive posture while continuing to support the force. After a decade of conflict, the Army started to use lessons learn and came up with the Unified Land Operations in 2011 from doctrine advent Air Land Battle. The Unified Land Operations is a doctrine that talks largely about the capabilities of the Army and how they should be used and not avoided in order to win a decisive battle. b. The Unified Land Operations is the third such doctrine the Army has developed with the same objective to impose the Army will on upon the enemy while achieving the Army objective. The second strategic doctrine the army developed Air Land Battle with a similar style of combat as the German Blitzkrieg where the objective is to use short, fast, powerful attacks

The transitional version of Field Manual 100-5 of 2001 stressed the integration, coordination, preparation, to the final step of execution of a successful mission. This doctrine is where the battle command and commander role became synonymous leading to a clearer picture of Commanders responsibility as a leader in combat to be successful. To be successful Commanders must understand when lethal and non-lethal force is necessary. d. In 2001 Field Manual 3-0 defined full spectrum operations as, “The range of operations Army forces conduct in war and military operations other than war.” As conflicts and wars continue the Army doctrine has changed to not only address the issues of combat but after combat and the process of getting there. The continued war in Afghanistan, and Iraqi has continued to have the adjust business practices for a non-conforming enemy. In the new doctrinal Field Manual’s, the verbiage has been changed to fit the updated direction the Army is going
