Describe what is meant by training:
Training is the process of providing employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their tasks and roles competently. Training not only helps to increase business efficiency but it can also make staff more motivated by increasing their job satisfaction. While training is narrowly focused on helping a company become more efficient and effective in the short term, development is more about building the long-term capabilities of the workforce.

Explain the difference between on-the-job-training and off-the-job-training. Explain why you think both training approaches are used by Aldi:
On the job training is training which takes place while employees are working. This means that skills can be gained while the workers are working, even if the work is slower than a seasoned worker.
This is an advantage to the employee due to them gaining critical on the job training, since they are working in a real world environment, so they can learn to deal with customers first hand, and not role play, meaning they will gain experience in dealing with the challenges and tasks they will meet during a normal working day.` This would also benefit the employer due to the worker …show more content…
