They both have pros and cons. Off-the-job training give the staff the opportunity to fully engaged with the training without interruption from day-to-day activities. This will enhance base knowledge of the job , but will need some more on-the-job training to get used to the actual works. On-the-job training has the advantage of learning from actual day-to-day work process, but may be interrupted by out-of-ordinary events. Also, some new staff may not be ready to go along the actual work process without of-the-job training first. • Accredited and non-accredited training organisations. These are usually very formal and staff generally receive some kind of certifications once they successfully complete the course. Staff get long term benefit in that their training is formally recognised and can be used as reference in future. On the other hand, non-accredited training are normally done by the companies themselves with materials specifically related to the tasks staff are to perform.
